Mining Sector Export 96.8% Successful

Tehran, Nov 2, IRNA – Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade announced that in the first half of the current year (started March 21) the mining sector in comparison with other major sectors has achieved 96.8% of the projected targets. Study of the performance of the mining sector shows that during the said period exports of this sector stood at $1.5 billion which shows an increase of 48.4% in comparison with the same period last year but registered the figure 96.8% in proportion to the targets for the current year. The targeted export of the mining sector for this year was predicted at $3.1 billion of which over 48% was realized in the first half of the current year. Meanwhile, the industry sector during the said period managed to realize 74.8% of the plan for the first half of the current year by obtaining $13.5 billion out of exports. The predicted export target of the industry sector in the current year is $36.1 billion. Meanwhile, agriculture, services, carpet and handicrafts stood in the subsequent places. The export performance of the agriculture sector in the first half of the current year was $1.6 billion which realized 48.5% of the target for the first half of the year and 48.4% of the targets for the entire year. The predicted export target of the agriculture sector for the year is $6.6 billion. Non-oil exports (commodities, services and gas condensates) in the first half of the current year exceeded $28.187 billion which shows an increase of 18% when compared to the figure $23.819 billion for the first half of the past year./end
