Minister to patronise forum on nuclear energy

Manama, Nov. 26 (BNA): The Arab Atomic Energy Agency in cooperation with the Supreme Council of Environment (SCE) will organise a forum under the patronage of Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza on prospects of electricity production and seawater desalination using nuclear energy. The forum which aims to highlight opportunities provided by nuclear energy to meet the growing needs for electricity and water, is slated on December 1-3. Experts from around the region and beyond will discuss the main themes related to energy strategies and techniques for power plants and their economic and financial prospects. It will also address regulatory and legislative frameworks as well as safety and security at nuclear plants.
