Minister receives MEOS 2017 organisers

Manama, July 21 (BNA): Oil Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, received in his office at the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Nabeel Alafaleg, Chief Petroleum Engineer - Saudi Aramco, Co-Chairman of Organising Committee - Middle East Oil Show and Conference (MEOS 2017). Dr. Nabeel Alafaleg was accompanied by Programme Co-Chairman Faisal N. Al-Nughaimish, Director of Gas Drilling Engineering Department – Saudi Aramco and Fawzee Alshihabe G.M marketing - AEM. The meeting was attended by NOGA General Secretary Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Sharyan and General Manager-Strategies and Planning Ali A. Jabar Al Sawad, and Engineer behind Anwar S. Khalaf, Advisor-Minister’s Office. The minister welcomed the efforts of the Chairman and Organising Committee of the 20th MEOS, which is to be held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister. The event will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre from March 6 to 9, 2017. The co-chairman of the MEOS 2017 organizing committee explained the arrangements made for the international show organized by Arabian Exhibition Management (AEM), and Society of Petroleum Engineers in the Kingdom of Bahrain every two years since its inception in 1979. The delegation also discussed with the Minister the conference program, which included a Ministerial Session on the first day, following the official opening. They explained the arrangements made for the events held on the sidelines of MEOS 2017, such as workshops for science teachers and secondary school students in Bahrain. The Minister said Bahrain was keen to ensure the success of the event and provide all necessary support. He praised MEOS for earning international reputation as one of the largest petroleum shows in the Middle East, and for providing opportunities for information and expertise exchange to the oil and gas sector professionals and enthusiasts. Dr. Alafaleg expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Shaikh Mohammed for the warm reception and discussions held to make MEOS 2017 a great success. He praised the support enjoyed by the series over the years from the Government of Bahrain, which he said, had helped it earn its global reputation.
