Minister visits Moroccan traditional industries village

Rabat, May 29 (BNA): Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani accompanied with Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA)'s Director of Handicrafts Directorate Shaikha Wafa bint Saif Al Khalifa and the accompanying delegation comprising some ministry officials carried a reconnaissance visit to the Traditional Industries Village in Sala City as part of the delegation's business visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. The Bahraini delegation toured the Moroccan village's traditional handicrafts pavilions including pottery, textiles, tanneries, architectural decor exhibits and listened to a detailed presentation about the main traditional industries for which the village was renowned such as the pottery handicraft. The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism said the Kingdom of Bahrain had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Morocco Kingdom in 2004 focused on vocational education, the preservation of handicrafts and revival of traditional industrial products across the traditional industries fields.
