Ministry Distributing Maps Of Tourist Sites To Traveelers

Jakarta, July 22 (Antara) - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has begun distributing thousands of maps of tourist attractions to the post-fasting Idul Fitri or Lebaran travelers, which they can visit during their journey. "We plan to distribute the maps one week before the Lebaran holidays," Ratna Suranti, the director for promotional affairs of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, stated here on Tuesday. As followed in the past, her office cooperated with private companies and state-owned enterprises to create tourism maps replete with tourism packages and routes to tourist destinations, which are being distributed to Idul Fitri travelers across the country. Suranti remarked that her office will print over 50 thousand maps of tourist sites, which will be distributed in public places such as at toll road gates, bus terminals, seaports, malls, and others. Ratna explained that the maps resembled common maps and are tourism maps having relevant information about supporting facilities such as hotels, recreation centers, and restaurants, including tourism packages. She expressed hope that the maps will serve to promote tourist destinations among the Idul Fitri travelers. The tourism packages are also expected to help travelers and the people to enjoy their favorite tourist destinations easily. Around 27.9 million people in Indonesia are expected to travel to their native villages to celebrate the Islamic post-fasting celebrations of Idul Fitri, up seven percent from last year, claimed the police. "The condition will certainly increase traffic vulnerabilities," National Police Chief General Sutarman noted in a written statement read out by Governor of Riau province in Sumatra Annas Maamun at a roll call of forces assigned to ensure security during the big holiday event. The Idul Fitri holidays will fall on July 28-29, 2014.
