Mitsubishi Heavy Wins UAE Satellite Launch Order

Tokyo, March 9 (Jiji Press)--Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. <7011> said Monday that it has won its third foreign satellite launch order, from an organization of the United Arab Emirates. The Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology placed the order for the launch of its KhalifaSat earth observation satellite. The value of the order has not been revealed. Mitsubishi Heavy aims to launch the satellite using an H-2A rocket in fiscal 2017. The rocket will also carry a Japanese greenhouse gas observation satellite being jointly developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, or JAXA, and others. Previously, the Japanese company received satellite launch orders from South Korean and Canadian organizations. Mitsubishi Heavy hopes to win more satellite launch orders from abroad. END
