More positive signs of growing Thai economy

Bangkok, January 18 (TNA) - There are now more positive signs of further growing Thai economy in 2018, including the country's expanding exports and tourism. Permanent Secretary for Finance Somchai Sujjaponse told journalists of the update on January 17, noting that the positive signs also include expanding domestic consumption and investment in both the public and private sectors. Somchai said that new private investment projects, in particular, have exceeded an earlier target, thanks to the government's tax incentive, while many public mega-investment projects have already been launched. Besides, the government's welfare measure to assist low-income earners has stimulated the domestic consumption. According to the senior official, a recent meeting of his ministry's executives resolved that all the positive factors have contributed to the recovering Thai economy since last year. (TNA)
