Most Chinese travellers to visit Thailand during Lunar New Year celebration

BANGKOK, January 30 (TNA) - Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) says that most Chinese travellers are expected to choose the Thai Kingdom as their top overseas destination during the Lunar New Year celebration 2019. AOT President Nitinai Sirismatthakarn told journalists on January 29 that latest reports have mentioned Thailand as the anticipated top overseas destination for Chinese travellers during this year's Chinese New Year celebration. The AOT president announced that six Thai international airports nationwide, including the Suvarnabhumi Airport on the outskirts of Bangkok, the Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, the Chiang Mai Airport and the Mae Fah Luang Airport, or the Chiang Rai Airport, in the Thai North, as well as the Phuket Airport and the Hat Yai Airport in the Thai South, will, thus, organize activities to extend best wishes and to entertain Chinese tourist arrivals at their airports during this year's Chinese New Year celebration, together with providing them with the Airport Service and the Airport Help systems, namely Chinese Mandarin and English interpreters, as well as other facilities. The AOT president stated that, for instance, on February 5, the exact date of the Lunar New Year, Chinese tourist arrivals at the Suvarnabhumi International Airport via the China Southern Airline, flight CZ 3081, from Hangzhou City, will be welcome by Chinese performances and special souvenirs given to them all, along with decorated corners for them to take photos on both the airport's inbound and outbound terminals on the second and the fourth floors. On the same day, the AOT president revealed that Chinese tourist arrivals at the Don Mueang International Airport via the Thai Air Asia X Airline from Shanghai, flight XJ 761, will also be welcome with special souvenirs and Chinese performances, including a traditional procession of a golden dragon, at the third floor of the airport's Terminal 2. Besides, all Chinese tourist arrivals at other four Thai international airports in provincial areas will be welcome similarly with those arriving at the Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Don Mueang Airport. The AOT president suggested, meanwhile, that for more information, international passengers call the AOT Contact Center, 1722, which is available 24 hours. (TNA)
