MP: Government priority goes to resistance economy

Mashhad, Dec 7, IRNA – A member of Majlis Plan and Budget Commission said the government has devoted its main priority to 'resistance economy.' Speaking at a session on government’s role in resistance economy, Elias Naderan said according to Article 44 of the Constitution connection of the government’s general budget to oil should be cut in order to be able to create job opportunities out of oil revenues and collect taxes from the people in order to turn structure of oil economy to resistance economy. Tehran representative in the Majlis further remarked that Iran’s economy should be the harbinger of a distinguished economic model so that when people of the world look at it they would say the economy has grown and its interests have been justly distributed among the people. He noted that the resistance economy should be implemented to create a dynamic, sustainable and stabilized economy in domestic fields so that in case of financial crisis outside the borders our economy would sustain the least damage. “If only governments soundly undertake their responsibilities an entrepreneur, dynamic and growth-oriented economy would emerge wherein social justice and just distribution of revenues would exist.” He pointed to instances such as transparency, removal of double pricing, stability in decision making, adopting policies in support of domestic production and transfer of rent economy into entrepreneur economy as cases that required utmost attention of the officials. “Views of the officials should be changed from a ‘trade-oriented’ to a ‘production-oriented’ approach and instead of export and import of raw materials reliance should be made on domestic capacities.”/end
