MP: Iran-Pakistan Agreements Play Essential Role In Promoting Ties

Tehran, Dec 24, IRNA – Head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Majlis, Ala'eddin Boroujerdi, said on Sunday that the agreements, reached between Tehran and Islamabad, especially the one concerning the IP pipeline project, play a pivotal role in further expanding ties between the two friendly and neighboring states. Borujerdi told Pakistani Sindh Chief Minister's advisor Haleem Adil Sheikh that enemies of Iran-Pakistan relations try to sabotage their ties, especially in industrial and scientific spheres. Underlining importance of political, economic and cultural relations between Iran and Pakistan, Boroujerdi said senior Iranian and Pakistani officials are determined to bolster bilateral ties and Iranian Majlis strongly supports this policy. He noted that Iranian and Pakistani officials take seriously any factor harming bilateral ties. Sheikh, for his part, said senior Pakistani officials underline further expansion of bilateral economic, political and cultural relations with Iran. Pakistan supports Iran's right to acquire peaceful nuclear technology, he said./end
