MPs Downgrade Impacts Of Oil Sanctions On Economic Development

Tehran, July 1, IRNA – Members of Parliament on Saturday downgraded impacts of oil sanctions on economic development. They said that it is over three decades that they have imposed a variety of sanctions but to no avail. "In the past such measures were publicized for psychological warfare but this time these measures would prove useless as you can observe the growth of Iran’s index despite their hue and cry." The MPs believe that the European ailing economy will suffer more from July 1 when the sanctions take effect. MP Arsalan Fathipour said oil sanctions by the European Union never could harm the will and dignity of Iranian nation. "The novel set of sanctions leaves no impacts on the country’s development projects," he said. Majlis have studied these sanctions and is now preparing precise and scientific answers to foil the plots, he said. The enemies should bear in their minds that Iranian people never give in to such bullying and are ready to pay its expenses as they are used to during the eight years of imposed war with Iraq, he said. Iran has proved that it is capable to confront these sanctions through various means and the European and the US suffering from ailing economies will be major loser, he said. MP Ismail Kowsari said the new set of economic sanctions against Iran indicate that the European Union tells lie in nuclear talks with Iran. They claimed that they seek to resolve the nuclear dossier with Iran but their recent measures proved that they are not committed to their pledges, Kowsari said. During talks with G5+1, Iran called for removal of sanctions but this prove that they pursue other goals, he said. Talks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear energy is nothing more than an excuse, underlined the MP. There is no doubt that Iranian officials will find way-out of these sanctions through rationality, he said. “We will make decisions in line with the country’s interests,” he said. There is no doubt that such measures create problems on the trend of talks between Iran and G5+1 in the future, he pointed out./end
