Mumtalakat CEO attends Future Investment Initiative 2018

Manama, Oct. 25 (BNA): Mahmood H Alkooheji, CEO of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the Kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, attended the 2018 Future Investment Initiative (FII) as part of Bahrain’s delegation led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, and First Deputy Prime Minister. The 2018 FII is being held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the chairmanship of HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Commenting on his participation Mahmood H. Alkooheji, CEO of Mumtalakat said, ‘Following the success of the first edition of the Future Investment Initiative last year, we greatly value our participation again this year. Building on our mandate in support of the economic growth of the Kingdom of Bahrain, we continue to seek new areas of cooperation between Mumtalakat and the Saudi Public Investment Fund. The forum provides a unique opportunity for us to identify potential projects and different investment opportunities. The latest IMF predictions of 1.9% growth in GDP in Saudi Arabia for this year, and the addition of the Saudi Stock Exchange Market to the group of emerging markets by Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) indicates the resilience of the Saudi economy and its ability to overcome challenges and continue its growth.’ ‘We have always enjoyed strong ties with Saudi Arabia. We look forward to meeting our peers from around the world to discuss future economic trends that will shape new investment sectors and their contributions to growth and development across the globe,’ added Alkooheji. This year’s programme includes more than 40 plenaries, open discussions and task force sessions that are focused on three core pillars: Investing in Transformation, Technology as Opportunity and Advancing Human Potential.
