Mwani Qatar Announces Completion of Al Wakrah Harbor Rehabilitation

Doha, April 20 (QNA) - Qatar Ports Management Company-Mwani Qatar announced on Thursday the completion of Al Wakrah Harbor rehabilitation according to the schedule set by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, in coordination with the Fisheries Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. The harbor berth was completely renovated, old facilities were replaced with modern ones, and the pavement was extended from 120 to 160 meters, with 35 berths and 16 bollards. Mwani Qatar's CEO Captain Abdulla Al Khanji said, "We are very pleased to announce the completion of Al Wakrah Harbor rehabilitation on-schedule. The new harbor's facilities will help to meet the needs of boat owners and support economic development in Al Wakrah and adjacent areas, through promoting business activities in a way that serves the national economy." "Mwani Qatar in coordination with stakeholders took into account the use of the finest and latest materials in the project rehabilitation in an effort to protect the environment and ensure these materials keep pace with the highest standards of safety and quality," he added. The construction works started in October last year, providing appropriate and modern facilities with global standards and specifications to meet the needs of fishermen and boat owners. (QNA)
