MWM Leader Hails Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project

Islamabad, March 13, IRNA – Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri, secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has congratulated the Pakistani and Iranian nations on historic Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. “Inauguration of final construction phase by President Zardari and President Ahmadinejad is a slap in the face of enemies of Pakistan,” said Allama Jafri in a statement issued. He said that the Pakistani nation would benefit more from the project because the energy crisis would be sorted out by the adequate gas supply from Iran. He said that the construction phase would also bring in huge investment and employment opportunities for working class in Baluchistan and Sindh province. “We advise the U.S. administration to stop playing anti-Pakistan role because their opposition to this august project has tarnished their already blackened image in all over the world, let alone Pakistan,” he said. Allama Jafri also proposed to the Indian government to learn a lesson from Pakistani government that has rejected the U.S. pressure and continue work on the project. “Indian government should also join the project. By doing so, India too will be able to overcome its energy crisis,” he said. Allama Jafri said that Chinese government should also enhance its work on the proposed Iran-Pakistan-China gas pipeline. He said that if the Indian and Chinese government gets involved in the gas pipeline project, Pakistan would earn huge income in terms of transit fee./end
