MyCEB To Reinforce Malaysia's Position As Asia's Prime Global Hub For Business

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) is heading to China again to reinforce the country's position as Asia's go-to-business destination through its annual interactive roadshow, the 6th China Roadshow 2016, from Aug 29-Sept 8, 2016. In a statement here Monday, MyCEB said, Malaysia has rapidly gained traction as Asia’s prime global hub for business events and corporate incentives, especially in the Chinese market. To-date, over 20 of MyCEB's industry partners -- hotels, venue providers, destination management companies, event suppliers, airlines and convention centres as well as state bureaus -- had confirmed their participation in this year's roadshow to China, it said. MyCEB Chief Executive Officer, Zulkefli Sharif, said Malaysia has so far hosted a total of 26,240 delegates halfway through 2016 from various incentive groups in China that translated to over US$100.76 million (RM406 million) in total economic impact to the country. "This validates MyCEB's concerted efforts in continuously engaging China, which now represents 32.3 per cent of the corporate meeting and incentive market since 2011 to maintain its keenness in contributing to the inflow of meetings and incentive trips in Malaysia," he said. The China Roadshow 2016, a face-to-face engagement event covering China's main capital cities, would begin with Beijing (Aug 29); Shanghai (Sept 1); Chengdu (Sept 5); and, Guangzhou (Sept 8). --BERNAMA
