Nakhchivan-Tabriz-Tehran-Mashhad train launched

Nakhchivan, December 30, AZERTAC Nakhchivan-Tabriz-Tehran-Mashhad passenger train has been launched. Addressing the event, chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov hailed the importance of the agreement signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and Iran on the coordination of railways of the two countries. Vasif Talibov thanked the organizers and those who contributed to the implementation of the project. In his remarks, head of Azerbaijan Railways Closed Joint Stock Company Javid Gurbanov praised the development and renovation work carried out in the railway network. Azerbaijan's Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev hailed the strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, saying reciprocal visits of the heads of state contribute to bilateral relations. Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology, co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Mahmoud Vaezi praised development of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic in recent years. Managing Director of Iranian Railways Saeed Mohammadzadeh described the launch of Nakhchivan-Tabriz-Tehran-Mashhad passenger train as the continuation of the measures taken in railway transportation between the two countries. After viewing the train, chairman of the Supreme Assembly Vasif Talibov and Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mahmoud Vaezi gave short interviews to media outlets and posed for photographs with the event participants. Mr. Talibov stressed the importance of the business forum in developing the bilateral bonds. The chairman also highlighted reciprocal visits, adding participation of entrepreneurs in the business exhibitions paved the way for the expansion of relations. "There are wide opportunities for bilateral cooperation of businessmen," he said. Mr. Talibov expressed confidence that this forum would contribute to Azerbaijani-Iranian ties. Minister Shahin Mustafayev spoke of economic relations between the two countries. Mr. Mustafayev pointed to excellent conditions created for businessmen in Nakhchivan. Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said Azerbaijani-Iranian relations had ancient history. He hailed the ongoing development of the Autonomous Republic. The minister said Iran attaches great importance to the development of relations with Azerbaijan and its Autonomous Republic. Mahmoud Vaezi said the business forum would open new opportunities for development of bilateral ties. The participants viewed the exhibition reflecting Nakhchivan`s socio-economic development. Ordubad-Marazad Hydroelectric power station to be built over Araz river Ordubad-Marazad Hydroelectric power station will be built over the Araz river under the mutual agreement between Azerbaijan and Iran. Chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov and Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology, co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation Mahmoud Vaezi viewed the project of Ordubad-Marazad Hydroelectric power station and the territory where the station will be built. They were informed about the work to be done here. He was seen off by chairman of the Supreme Assembly of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov at Julfa customs checkpoint. Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and Azerbaijan`s Minister of Economy Shahin Mustafayev signed the final protocol of the 11th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on economic, trade and humanitarian spheres. The protocol provides for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, economy, border affairs, industry, energy, transport, communication, culture, tourism, health, agriculture, social defense, science, education, youth and sports.
