NCCIM TO Bring Biggest Delegation To Accompany PM's Visit To US

By Mohd Khairi Idham Amran KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malaysia (NCCIM) is bringing 70 of its members to the United States in conjunction with Prime Minister Najib Razak's one-week visit to the US next week. Its secretary-general, Syed Hussien Al-Habshee, said the delegation was the biggest under the patronage of NCCIM to follow the Prime Minister so far. "We aim to promote various sectors in Malaysia, among them, biotechnology, green technology, information technology and halal industry to the US companies," he told Bernama. Syed Hussien said this after a roundtable meeting with Kansai Economic Federation here Saturday. He said NCCIM would also like to promote research and development, higher education and distribution sectors. Syed Hussien said the US business delegation would also participate in a roundtable discussion in Boston which would also include Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, Abdul Wahid Omar. The delegation would also participate in a business forum in New York, he said. "Najib is expected to attend the forum. Also expected to attend are the representatives of Manhatan Business Centre and US Business Centre," he said. He said three memoranda of understanding would also be signed. "They are between NCCIM and US Business Centre, Dewan Perniagaan Melayu Malaysia (Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia) Putrajaya and Manhattan Business Centre and a Malaysian and US firm. --BERNAMA
