New MCOT President vows to improve company's strat

BANGKOK, April 3 (TNA) -- New president of MCOT Plc or MCOT vowed on his first day in office that he is set to strengthen the organisation's strategy to expand the channel's audience base, particularly through online media. Mr Khemthat Phondet, the new president, gave an interview on his first day at his new office today that he is determined to strengthen the organisation to the fullest in order to out best other rivalries in the industry. He stressed that MCOT would take back the position as the country's leading media organisation by responding to the demands of the viewers as much as possible, while also increasing creativity and innovations to cater to the desires and needs of customers, especially via social media, online, and radio broadcasts. The president said the modern audiences no longer rely on television to learn of new information, as most, particularly those under 15 years of age, are relying on online media to learn more about what is going on in the world. He said MCOT's potential would lead the organisation to become popular among the public once again in the near future. Mr Khemthat noted that MCOT also possesses the capability to compete well with other channels in the digital era on news presenting as it is fully equipped with talented personnel, as well as outstanding equipment and provincial networks. The measuring of the organisation's KPI would be done on two parts, including rating and content developments, where he said that Thai News Agency or TNA's employees might have to work harder in answer of the changing demands of the public in the society.
