Nissan to Release All-New Note Car Dec. 23

Tokyo, Nov. 24 (Jiji Press)--Nissan Motor Co. <7201> said Tuesday it will release an all-new model of its subcompact car Note in Japan on Dec. 23, hoping to increase domestic sales by enhancing the appeal of its mainstay car. The price ranges from 2,029,500 to 2,186,800 yen. For the new Note, fully revamped for the first time in eight years, Nissan improved the fuel efficiency of its unique e-Power hybrid vehicle technology and achieved quiet and powerful driving. The latest version of e-Power, which uses the engine as a generator and runs only on the electric motor, is characterized by quick acceleration and smooth driving. Driving support functions have also improved, including a system that automatically accelerates and decelerates according to the slope of a curve. In June, Nissan launched the subcompact SUV Kicks, which was its first new model in two years and nine months other than minivehicles. Toward fiscal 2023, the automaker plans to release hybrid and electric vehicles to shore up its domestic sales, which have been affected by a shortage of new models. END
