Nok Air gives free tickets to delayed passengers

BANGKOK, August 13 (TNA) - Nok Air, a subsidiary budget airline of Thai Airways International (THAI), the national flag carrier, issues free tickets to all passengers who were affected by delayed flights on Wednesday morning due to the airline's temporary collapse of online system. Nok Air's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Patee Sarasin announced on Thursday that the free domestic tickets are given to every passenger affected by Wednesday morning's delayed flights due to his company's computer glitches. Patee stressed that Nok Air issues free tickets to all passengers who were to depart from Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport by his budget airline from 4am to 10am. Besides, his airline's staff members were told to telephone and express sorry to all the affected passengers. Meanwhile, Parichart Khotcharat, Director-General of the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), under the Thai Ministry of Transport, told reporters that Nok Air encountered a failure of its check-in passenger system from 4am and she had ordered her deputy to help solve the crux at Don Mueang Airport. Parichart said she had also ordered directors of airports across the country where Nok Air flights were to depart on August 12 to help stranded passengers and to solve the problem. According to the DCA chief, Nok Air's assistance to affected passengers was in line with the Thai Ministry of Transport’s regulations. (TNA)
