OCTV, MCOT share quality digital content

BANGKOK, December 19 (TNA) - Oriental CAMG (Asia) TV Network Co.,Ltd., an affiliate of China Radio International (CRI), and MCOT Public Company Limited (MCOT) have inked a contract on bilateral cooperation on the exchange of quality digital content programs between the established Chinese and Thai media firms. The contract on the China Asia-Pacific New Media Alliance was officially signed between OCTV and MCOT at a ceremony held at the China Cultural Center in Bangkok on December 18, witnessed and chaired by Lou Hongbing, a CRI news center director, and Nanthasit Leksrisakul, an MCOT vice president for strategies and finance, with the present of other executives of both sides. Under the contract, OCTV, as an arm of CRI, a Chinese comprehensive media production giant, and MCOT will share their digital programs with quality content, aimed to promote the learning of the shared Chinese and Thai cultures and to jointly develop further their digital content in the future. Phairach Santhawe, acting chief of MCOT digital department, said, meanwhile, that two Chinese documentaries with digital content on the "21st Century Maritime Silk Road" and the "Poetic Life Handmade in China", two TV series on "The Nanny Man" and "Wind Shadow for Black Fox" and the "Sawadee China" Mandarin teaching program will be first on air on MCOT Family (14) soon after the signing of Monday's contract, following China's TV series that have already been on air on MCOT HD (30) with a warm welcome by TV fans, including Novoland. Phairach noted that MCOT plans to also introduce Thailand-made series for Chinese TV fans in the future for entertainment, cultural exchange and economic purposes of both the allied countries. (TNA)
