Official: Inche Boroun Free Trade Zone to be established

Gorgan, Golestan Prov., Dec 3, IRNA – Vice-President and Secretary of Free Zones Coordination Council said with the connection of Iran, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, Inche Boroun in this province will be turned into a free trade zone. Speaking at a local gathering here on Tuesday afternoon, Akbar Torkan said since Kazakhstan is one of the world mineral rich countries, all mining capacities of that country are transferable to Inche Boroun through railway. Referring to rich steel, copper, magnesium and aluminum reserves in Kazakhstan, the official said through the railway all the mineral capacities in the said areas will be put at the disposal of Inche Boroun. Saying that Inche Boroun Metallurgy Town is more extensive and economical than Isfahan Steel Town, Torkan noted that with Inche Boroun turning into a free zone investment and economic conditions of the zone will become more extensive. Pointing to the high capacity of the National Development Fund, Torkan said investors in Inche Boroun can use resources of the Fund. He said inauguration of the 910-km Iran-Turkmenistan-Kazakhstan railway will provide a good economic leap for Golestan Province, adding that people of the province will take advantage of this economic activity more than others. Elsewhere in his remarks he said out of 63 special zones 23 are active in the country and noted that not enough investment has been attracted for the others. He said directors of the inactive special zones should make heavy investment in infrastructures of the zones and added that to remove such a problem and for activation of the special economic zones expert studies are underway./end
