Official: Iran Keen To Expand Trade Ties With China

Bandar Abbas, April 15, IRNA – Hormuzgan Governor General Ebrahim Azizi called for active participation of Chinese companies in his provinceˈs investment projects. Azizi made the remarks in a meeting with Chinaˈs Guangdong Governor General Zhu Xiaodan in Guangdong on Sunday. The Iranian official pointed to economic, transport and cultural potentials of Bandar Abbas as biggest and most import port of Iran, and expressed the hope that through expansion of relations between Hormuzgan and Guangdong the volume of trade transactions between Iran and China will increase. Azizi invited Xiaodan to pay a visit to Bandar Abbas in the near future which was welcomed by the Chinese provincial official. Guangdong is a Chinese province on the South China Sea coast. During Aziziˈs visit to Chinaˈs Guangdong province, the governors general of Hormuzgan and Guangdong signed memorandum of understanding. Hormuzgan governor general visited Yantian and Shenzhen ports in Guangdong province as well as the shipbuilding factory in Zhuhai city. The delegation accompanying Hormuzgan governor also met with officials of tourism, Economic Cooperation and Foreign Trade and transportation organization of Guangdong and they also had separate visits to the chamber of commerce of Guangzhu city and Guangdong province, Guangdong provinceˈs foreign studies university and Shenzhen municipality. The Hormuzgan governor general returned to Iran on Saturday night after his four-day visit to China./end
