Official: Iran ranks 15th in world navigation

Qeshm Island, Oct 29, IRNA – Deputy Head of Iran's Navigation and Ports Organization (INPO) in Marine Affairs Ali Estiri said that Iran's position among 170 member countries of International Marine Organization (IMO) has risen to 15. Estiri made the remarks in the opening ceremony of meeting of directors of INPO here on Tuesday. He said that presenting operational and specialized documents to improve IMO's codes and regulations helped to achieve the rank. Referring to INPO joining to Marine Labor Convention (MLC) and implementation of the convention from June 2015, Estiri said that necessary preparations for implementation of the convention and observing its maximum obligations is to be considered and discussed in the gathering./end
