Official: Italian investment supported in Fars

Shiraz, Fars Prov., Nov 9, IRNA – Governor General of Fars Province referring to the long-standing economic relations between Iran and Italy said: “We support investment of the Italian private sector and companies in Fars Province.” Speaking in a meeting with the visiting Italian economic delegation, Mohammad Ahmadi said Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture of Fars as the representative of the private sector is ready to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Italian private sector. He said economic relations between Iran and Italy despite ups and downs have remained stable since the past and the Iranian people have developed good memories of trade with Italy and Italian industrial products. Referring to the willingness of numerous European companies for the expansion of ties with Iran he further remarked that Italian politicians have taken a better position with regard to Iran and taking the positive and proper approach of the Iranian people into consideration Italian companies are prioritized in Iran’s economic activities. Ahmadi said that Fars is a large province with numerous capacities and possibilities in the field of oil, gas, mine, tourism and trade. Also speaking at the meeting Roberto Cecon, head of the Italian delegation visiting the city said with regard to economic crises emerged in Italy and other European countries Italian companies are very eager to be present in Iran. He said Italian industrial companies are ready to make investment in Fars, expressing hope that with regard to the support of Fars officials and directors long presence of Italian industries will be witnessed in the province./end
