Official underlines necessity to revive Iran-Pakistan banking ties

Islamabad, Dec 11, IRNA – Iran's Consul General in Peshawar city, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan, Mohammad-Baqer Baygi underlined the necessity to remove existing obstacles on the way of expansion of economic relations and re-opening banking activities' channels between the two countries. He made the remarks in a meeting with the new head of the provincial branch of People's Party Homayoun Khan. In the meeting, issues of mutual interest were discussed by the two sides and the general trend of mutual ties between Iran and Pakistan were announced satisfactory. Homayoun Khan underlined the necessity for expansion of ties between the two countries, especially in the fields of trade and economy and also presented a report on the election process for internal affairs of the People Party on the eve of the 49th anniversary of the establishment of the party. People's Party of Pakistan is one of the biggest political parties in the country, headed by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, son of Benazir Bhutto, ex-prime minister of Pakistan, and his father is Asif Ali Zardari, former president of Pakistan. 1378/IRNA
