Official Unveils Plans To develop Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone

Bushehr, Dec 18, IRNA -- The government adopted plans to develop Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone, an executive official said on Monday. Chairman of Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone Board of Directors Masoud Nassouri said that the organization has plans to develop northern part of the Zone at the early stage. He made the remarks in a meeting with the managers of North PSEEZ in Bushehr. Nasouri said PSEEZ is preparing the necessary infrastructures of its operational A and B fields to expand them to under construction on northern Farzad field. He said all grounds have been prepared in this regard and the plan is finalized to go ahead with construction stage soon. Pars Special Economic and Energy Zone was established in ‎‏1998‏‎ for the utilization of South ‎Pars oil and gas resources and encouraging commercial activities in the field of oil, gas and ‎petrochemical industries.‎ It was established in order to facilitate the on-time execution of various oil and gas projects, providing the appropriate ‎foundation to attract local and foreign partnership with the aim of developing oil, gas and ‎petrochemical industries as well as inter-related and downstream industries. Creating local job ‎opportunities and attracting skilled and semi-skilled workforce from neighboring provinces with ‎regards to its positive effects on economic prosperity in the provinces of Bushehr, Fars and ‎Hormuzgan are also among the other objectives of the project.‎ This zone is located in the Persian Gulf coast and ‎‏300‏‎ Km. East of Port of Bushehr and ‎‏570‏‎ Km. ‎West of the Port of Bandar Abbas and approximately ‎‏100‏‎ Km. away from the South Pars Gas ‎Field (Continuation of the Qatar’s Northern Dome).‎/end
