Oil And Gas Exports From E Kalimantan Down

Samarinda, Oct 2 (Antara) - East Kalimantan exports of oil and gas fell to US$7.524 billion in the first 8 months of this year from US$8.676 billion in the same period last year. Japan was the largest buyer of oil and gas from the province followed by South Korea and Taiwan, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) said. Exports to Japan fell to US$2.535 billion in the 8 months period from US$4.126 billion in the same period in 2013. However, exports to South Korea rose to US$1.747 billion from US$1.486 billion , Aden Gultom, head of the provincial office of BPS said here on Thursday. Other buyers included Malaysia to which exports were valued at US$723.72 million and Singapore with exports valued at US$587.29 million . East Kalimantan also suffered a decline in exports of commodities other than oil and gas , down to US$10.109 billion from US$12.328 billion. Buyers of commodities other than oil and gas from East Kalimantan included India to which exports were valued at US$2.274 billion , followed by China to which exports were valued at US$2.282 billion and Japan to which exports were valued at US$1.369 billion Other export destinations included South Korea to which exports were valued at US$1.08 billion and Taiwan to which exports were valued at US$939 million.
