Only 116 Cars With Engines Of 2500CC Imported In Five Months

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – Only 116 electric and hybrid cars with engines up to 2500CC capacity have been imported within the first five months of the current calendar year (started March 21), due to undertakings of the 10th government towards athletes and war disabled. Iran Customs Department in its latest report on Wednesday said out of the figure 41 cars were imported by Tehran based embassies and 75 cars by athletes and the disabled and the remaining by some other institutions. The permit for importing cars by athletes and the disabled was issued in the 10th government and the Customs Department has released cars only on the basis of those permits. The report shows that according to the new decisions of the government borders of the country are closed to cars with engines above 2500CC. These cars can be imported only if subject to one of the conditions set by the 10th government./end
