Over 1m jobs created in Thailand in 2 years

BANGKOK, July 12 (TNA) - The Thai Ministry of Labour reports that more than one million people have been employed over the past two years, earning them over 10 billion baht a month totally so far. Thai Labour Ministry Spokesman Theerapol Khunmuang, who is also the ministry's Inspector-General, told journalists on July 11 that Labour Minister General Sirichai Diskul has introduced a guideline on supporting all Thais of all groups to have jobs in line with the government's policy. The spokesman elaborated that the Thai government has modernised job seeking systems to provide more conveniences and access to job seekers, in which direct mathching channels between employers and job seekers have been developed through "Smart Job Centres opened nationwide and through the online "Smart Application" to facilitate both the demand and the supply sides. The spokesman said up to about 1.08 million people have been employed through the Smart Job Centres alone during 2014-June 2016, earning them up to 10.99 billion baht a month totally. The spokesman stated that the labour minister has ordered all agencies under his ministry to always update job positions for people in the national workforces, noting that about 38,000-45,000 jobs are in demand monthly.
