Over 31m int'l tourist arrivals slated in Thailand Jan-Oct 2018

BANGKOK, November 22 (TNA) - The Ministry of Tourism and Sports reports that the number of foreign tourist arrivals in Thailand has reached over 31 million during the first 10 months of this year. Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Sports Pongpanu Svetarundra released the updated report on Thursday, saying that the number of international tourist arrivals in the Thai Kingdom during the January-October 2018 period represented a 7.84 per cent year-on-year expansion. Pongpanu told journalists that Thailand earned 1.63 trillion baht totally in tourism-related revenues during the first 10 months of 2018, a 9.98 per cent year-on-year increase. According to the senior official, some additional two million international tourists visited Thailand so far this month. Meanwhile, the Thai government has implemented the Visa on Arrival (VoA) measure since November 15, aimed to further stimulate the domestic tourism during the high season late this year. (TNA)
