Over 50 Russian companies taking part in BRICS trade fair opening in India

NEW DELHI, October 12. /TASS/. More than 50 Russian companies are taking part in the First trade fair of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) member-countries, which gets under way in the Indian capital on Wednesday, Yaroslav Tarasyuk, the head of Russia’s Trade Mission in India, has told TASS. "The motto of this trade fair is Cooperation for Innovation. Therefore, there are quite a few companies among the Russian participants representing innovation projects, including Rosnano and the Russian Venture Company," he said. Tarasyuk added that the organizers pay special attention to representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises. "Although well-known large companies, such as Sberbank, Russian Railways, the Russian Export Center, Uralvagonzavod, the Tractor Plants Concern, Renova and others have come to the fair, most Russian participants represent precisely small and medium-sized businesses," he said. The area of the Russian pavilion is about 1,000 square meters, the Russian delegation includes more than 200 people. The exhibition is beginning its work on October 12, but its official opening ceremony will take place on October 13 in the presence of the trade ministers of the BRICS member-countries. Russia will be represented by Industry and Trade Minister, Denis Manturov. The trade fair that brings together 397 companies from the five BRICS member-countries was organized by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India and the Indian government. The BRICS business forum is to be held as well. It will focus on the development of cooperation in industry, the energy sector and agriculture. The BRICS member-countries will present their trade potential and exchange views on ways of promoting cooperation. Read more
