Pakistan Eager To Boost Trade Ties With Iran: Boroujerdi

Islamabad,Dec 6, IRNA – Chairman of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Parliament of Iran, Majlis, Ala'eddin Boroujerdi, said here Wednesday Pakistan is eager to boost trade ties with Islamic Republic of Iran. Talking to IRNA he said that there is lot of potential between the two countries to boost trade and economic relationship. Giving details about his meeting with the prime minister he added that Ashraf said that the close economic ties between the two countries are reflected in the cooperation on the gas pipeline project, electricity and infrastructure projects. He added that Pakistani Prime Minster said that relations with Iran have been substantially improved. He said that the PM assured the Iranian delegation that Pakistan would complete the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline project. Ala'eddin Boroujerdi went on to say that Pakistani PM wants to develop railways links with Iran. He said that recent visit of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Pakistan and upcoming visit of Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari of Iran show that how much these countries are serious in boost mutual cooperation. He said that Iran also wants to enhance trade ties with Pakistan knowing their importance for both the nations./end
