Pakistan Min. Calls For Further Enhancing Trade Ties With Iran

Islamabad, Nov 20, IRNA -- Pakistani commerce and trade minister Makhdoom Amin Faheem here Monday underscored need for further boosting trade ties between Iran and Pakistan. Talking to IRNA he said that relations between Iran and Pakistan are very strong. “I am satisfied with the trade relationship between Iran and Pakistan but there is lot of scope to further enhance this relationship and we are trying to do that,” he said. The minister said that the D-8 or ‘Developing Eight’ groups include eight developing Muslim countries: Bangladesh‚ Egypt‚ Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. “We have very good relations with all D-8 member states including trade and business relations,” he said. Amin Faheem expressing his views said that there is a scope to enhance these relations. “I think this summit will be an opening towards further enhancing the relationship in trade and business among D-8 member countries,” he noted. The Commerce and trade minister said that all the members of D-8 are very important and ‘we respect all the countries of D-8.’ He added that Iran is an important member of D-8 group. ‘We want to work hand in hand with D-8 countries,” he said. /end
