Pertamina Builds 99 Story Tower

Jakarta, Dec 9 (Antara) - State-owned oil and gas company Pertamina has started the construction of its 99 story tower, which will host its headquarters and the offices of its subsidiaries, stated President Director Karen Agustiawan. "The building will accommodate some 23 thousand employees of Pertamina and its subsidiaries," confirmed the Pertamina President Director, during the ground breaking ceremony of the construction of the building, here on Monday. Scheduled for completion by 2020, the 99 story Pertamina Energy Tower is being built in the Rasuna Episentrum Area, Kuningan, South Jakarta. Karen noted that by pooling employees in one building, Pertamina is expected to work more efficiently and effectively in order to achieve its goal of becoming a world class corporation. Currently, Pertamina has at least 30 subsidiaries and sub-subsidiaries in separate offices. With 99 floors, Pertamina Energy Tower will be the tallest building in Indonesia, at a height of 540 meters. Built on a 5.7-hectare plot of land with a construction width of 540,000 sq meters, Pertamina Energy Tower will have 55 percent open and green space. It will also house a mosque with a capacity of five thousand, a meeting hall, an energy center and sports facilities. The tower, with a green building construction technology concept, will have Skidmore Owings as its main consultant and Turner International as its project management consultant. The two world class companies were also involved in the construction of the world`s tallest Burj al Khalifa building in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. Besides that, Pertamina also appointed Rider Levett Bucknall as a quantity surveyor consultant, PT Airmas Asri as architect consultant and PT Wiratman & Associate as its structure consultant. It has also involved PT Pembangunan Perumahan and PT Hutama Karya as the executor of the energy center project.
