PM Erdogan attends foundation-laying ceremony of several facilities in Izmir

ALIAGA (A.A) - October 25, 2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev attended the foundation-laying ceremony of the Star Refinery and Haydar Aliyev Technical High School in the western province of Izmir on Tuesday. Speaking at the ceremony, Erdogan said that Turkey was grateful to Azerbaijan for extending a helping hand to the Turkish nation in the first hours following Sunday's devastating earthquake in the eastern province of Van. "Today, we perform the foundation-laying ceremony of the Star Refinery which will be an investment worth five billion USD. When the refinery gets completed by the year 2015, it will provide employment to one thousand people," Erdogan said. "Today, we also perform the foundation-laying ceremony for the Haydar Aliyev Technical High School that will provide education to 720 students," Erdogan also said. The inauguration of the AYPE-T Factory of the Petkim petrochemical company also took place in Izmir on Tuesday with the participation of Erdogan and Aliyev.
