PM's Wife Inaugurates Indonesia-Malaysia Business Coop Event

Padang, W Sumatra, Aug 26 (Antara) - Malaysian prime minister`s wife Rosmah Mansor officiated the opening ceremony of a cooperation event organized for Indonesian and Malaysian businesswomen at Hotel Bumi Minang here on Tuesday. She emphasized that cooperation between Indonesian and Malaysian businesses, especially between West Sumatra and Malaysia, has actually grown well so far. So, this cooperation event is expected to enhance the existing ties, Mansor reiterated. With regard to women entrepreneurs, she stated that relations between the two countries` businesswomen need to be increased in view of their greater role, both domestically and globally. "Businesswomen have excelled in various fields and played a positive role in the world`s economic development," Mansor noted. She called on businesswomen of the two countries to utilize the advances in technology to enhance their relations. "Technology may eradicate barriers in the relations between the countries, and so it must be utilized," she stressed. Chairperson of the Indonesian Women`s Association Dewi Motik noted on the occasion that Indonesia and Malaysia had many similarities. "If the two nations will cooperate then many economic and social issues can be solved," she added. The ceremony was also attended by Hasan Malek, Malaysia`s minister of domestic trade and cooperatives, and Nita Yudi, the chairperson of the Indonesian Business Women Association, along with dozens of Indonesian and Malaysian businesswomen.
