PM:Thailand has attractive tourist sites

BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) - Thailand has a large number of tourist attractions and hospitable population. Lieutenant General Werachon Sukondhapatipak, a member of the prime minister's working panel, quoted Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha as making the remarks at Bangkok's Government House on Thursday, when the premier called on the Thai people to keep on being good hosts by giving a warm welcome to all international tourist arrivals in the country. "Apart from having attractive tourist sites, Thailand's hospitable people have been appreciated by impressive international visitors. So, I'd like to ask all Thai people to keep on being good hosts", the prime minister and defence minister was quoted as saying. Lieutenant General Werachon also quoted the prime minister and defence minister as stressing that the Thai government has tried to promote nationwide tourist attractions globally, including those in coastal Andaman resort Phuket Province in the Thai South, to boost tourism-related revenues of people and business operators, as well as the national economy. The Thai prime minister was also quoted as asking all tourist-related business operators nationwide to, thus, charge reasonable prices and not to take any advantage against international tourists in their areas. The new Thai administration, also headed by Prime Minister General Prayut, has already taken office after the prime minister, who is also now defence minister, led his new Cabinet to be sworned in before Their Majesties the King and Queen in the capital earlier this week.
