PM:Thailand welcomes int'l investment

BANGKOK, November 26 (TNA) - Thailand is moving toward the full-scale democratic system and welcoming international investment, especially on infrastructure development projects, as the government has a clear policy on investment promotion. Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha stressed on the position while delivering a special speech in Bangkok on Wednesday to members of the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand. The prime minister said that business operators and the private sector are like machinery helping drive the national economy ahead. The Thai premier acknowledged that domestic conflicts have resulted from poverty and income disparity, hindering the national development so far. The Thai prime minister declared that his government is prepared for offering facilities to the private sector after the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by the end of this year. The Thai leader opined that AEC should not leave anybody behind, noting that his government wants to resolve remaining cruxes in Thailand, which was a main reason for his decision on taking control of the national administration on May 22, 2014. According to the Thai prime minister, his government is heading toward the second phase-roadmap on national reform in 11 fields, while the third phase requires a new general election which is due to take place in July 2017 if everything is on the right track.
