Post Malaysia Elected New Chairman Of ASEANPOST

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 29 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia Berhad was elected as the new chairman of ASEANPOST, a grouping of postal service providers in the Asean region for a period of two years beginning next year. The election was held at the 21st Asean Pos Business Meeting at Chiang Mai, Thailand, Friday. Pos Malaysia Group Chief Executive Officer, Iskandar Mizal Mahmood said the election was timely as Malaysia would be the chairman of ASEAN next year, which would also see the launch of the ASEAN Economic Community. "The election shows the recognition for Pos Malaysia's contribution and leadership in the development of ASEANPOST, " he said in a statement issued here. --BERNAMA
