President: Direct Subsidies Payment Helped Manufacturing Sector

Tehran, Dec 23, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that direct subsidies payment helped uplift producing sector. Speaking to the IRIB to mark second anniversary of implementing the plan to pay direct subsidies, Ahmadinejad said that national economy enjoyed 5.2 percent growth. He said that implementing the plan helped the government save dlrs20 billion which must have been spent for import of petrol a year. Ahmadinejad said that consumption of oil derivatives such as petrol and gas have reduced by almost seven percent thanks to success of the direct subsidies plan./end
