President Unveils Six Major Defense Industry Achievements

Tehran, Aug 21, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here on Tuesday unveiled six important defense industry achievements on the occasion of the national Defense Industry Day. The President, who is accompanied by Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics Brigadier-General Ahmad Vahidi and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Reza Taqipour, also visited an exhibition showcasing the latest achievements of the Defense Ministry and its related organizations in the Iranian capital city. In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in producing essential military equipment and systems. Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially regional neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is merely based on deterrence./end
