Prodelcon Eyes Bigger Foreign Mart Share

By Azlee Nor Mahmud KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -– Prodelcon Sdn Bhd, a semiconductor-based products and services provider, is eyeing bigger market share, particularly in the US, says its assistant sales and costing manager, Shiu Eng Hoe. Prodelcon, which produces precision machining, assembly of photonics and radio frequency microwave packages in the semiconductor industry, participated in the Malaysian pavilion organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp at Semicon West 2014 in San Francisco, US from July 8–10, 2014. Semicon West is a significant event for the semiconductor industry in the US market and it provides a platform for Malaysian companies to further promote their products and services. Penang-based Prodelcon travelled with nine other Malaysian exhibitors to Semicon West to gain more exposure generating sales of US$49.7 million (RM157.92 million) from the US market. In a telephone interviw with Bernama Thursday, Shiu said Malaysian companies were capable of producing semiconductor products and services at par with the rest, without discarding quality and were competitively priced. "We try to reach out to more clients in the US, apart from our existing ones as we provide our products to clients worldwide. "With the opportunity given by Matrade to participate in the Malaysian pavilion, we hope that we are able to gain more clients," he said. -- BERNAMA
