PROJECT AGREEMENT SIGNED FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ On August 30, D.Enkhbat, State Secretary of the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, and Vinod Kumar Ajuha, UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Resident Representative signed an agreement on the emergency assistance program about murrain control in central and western Mongolia. Within the technical assistance project (TAP) worth USD 300 million, some activities such as capacity building of local veterinary departments, trainings for professionals and provision of equipment are to be carried out. State Secretary D.Enkhbat expressed great satisfaction with the support in capacity building of veterinary departments, noting his willingness to jointly implement further projects in agriculture sector. He also requested to co-organize major events such as ‘World Food Day’. Mr. Vinod Kumar Ajuha expressed readiness to provide support in developing livestock sector adapted to climate change in Mongolia. Views were exchanged on the significance of the Law on Pastureland and the need for its urgent approval as well as the opportunities and experience of fodder cultivation. M.Anudari
