PTT expands lubricant business in Myanmar

BANGKOK, July 21 (TNA) - PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, is expanding its lubricant oil business in Myanmar, through its contractor, Tunn Star Co., Ltd. PTT Assistant President for Oil Business Chavalit Phanthong and Chairman of Tunn Star Co., Ltd. U Tun Lwin signed the dealership contract in Bangkok on Monday, at a ceremony presided over by PTT Vice President for Downstream Petrochemical Business Saran Rungkasiri and witnessed by Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Win Maung and Myanmar Military Attache to Thailand Brigadier General Chit Swe. Under the contract, part of PTT's attempts to be a regional top brand, Tunn Star Co., Ltd. is the sole dealer of PTT's lubricant products in Myanmar for five years. PTT and Tunn Star Co., Ltd. have developed lubricant products in Myanmar for over six years and the partnership results in the steady sale growth of PTT's lubricant products in the neighboring country, where the products have an 8 per cent market share, the third largest in Myanmar. The partnership is expected to further boost sale volumes of PTT's lubricant products in Myanmar to 15 million liters yearly over the next five years. (TNA)
