Qasr-e Shirin Exports To Iraq At $918m

Tehran, Sept 25, IRNA - Iran exported $918.86m worth of goods to Iraq through Parvizkhan and Khosravi border crossings in Qasr-e Shirin (Kermanshah province) during March 21-September 22, 2014. Making the above statement, Nematollah Nazparvardeh, Qasr-e Shirin’s deputy governor-general, put the weight of the exports at 2.42m tons. He listed major export items as cement, cakes and biscuits, evaporative cooler, tomato, tomato paste, watermelon, yogurt, construction materials, fruit and vegetables. Nazparvardeh said 600,000 tons of products worth $74 million were exported via Khosravi border crossing and 1.82 million tons of the goods valued at $869,000 pertained to Parvizkhan crossing. An average of 1,100 trucks per day carry Iranian goods to Iraq through Parvizkhan and Khosravi border crossings, he added. “Parvizkhan border crossing is Iran’s biggest center for exporting goods to Iraq. The border accounts for 52 percent of the country’s total non-oil exports to Iraq per annum.” Located west of Kermanshah province, Qasr-e Shirin has more than 186 kilometers of joint border with Iraq./end
