Qatar Central Securities Depository Issues May Report

Doha, June 10 (QNA) - Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) has registered treasury bills issued by Qatar Central Bank of Qatar for the second quarter of 2018 in the its systems. Treasury bills were registered with a date of issue on the 1st of May. The T-Bills included three-month treasury bills with nominal value of QR 900 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 90,000 and a maturity date of 01/08/2018 1. It also included six-month treasury bills issued with nominal value of QR 225 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 33 thousands and a maturity date of 01/11/2018. QCSD also registered nine-month treasury bills issued by QCB with nominal value of QR 200 million. The total number of T-Bills issued was 20 thousands and a maturity date of 05/02/2019. QCSD issued its report for May, featuring its main procedures during the month, which included custody, recording, management, acquisition, clearing and settlement of securities and derivatives and other financial instruments; the provision of related financial services; the transfer of ownership of executed contracts through trading and remittances; in addition to the implementation of all bookings and decommissioning and foreclosure operations at the request of the relevant parties. QCSD also updated a number of shareholders' statements and added new shareholders. According to the report, QCSD had amended the foreign ownership percentage in the shares of Al khaleej Takaful Insurance to become 49% of the company's capital, equivalent to 12,508,672 shares. QCSD had also amended foreign ownership percentage in the shares of the Gulf International Services Company to become 49% of the capital, equivalent to 91,062,025 shares. The foreign ownership percentage in the shares of the Qatari Investors Group was also amended to become 49% of the capital, equivalent to 60,920,121 shares. In its monthly report, QCSD provided figures and statistics illustrating the main activities carried out during May. In ownership transfer of the third market, the QCSD conducted 168 family transfers in May, compared to 166 in April, a rise by 1.2%. The company also conducted 414 inheritance transfers in May, compared to 308 in April, a rise by 34.42%. One exception transfer was made in April. The number of shareholders recognized in the company's system during May reached 955 thousand and 723 shareholders, compared to 955 thousand and 695 shareholders in April, a change of 0.002%, while the number of shareholders with a bank account was 48 thousand and 792 shareholders in May against 49 thousands and 421 shareholders in April with a change of 1.27%. In this regard, QCSD urged shareholders to update their registered information and to add their own bank account in order to facilitate their access to the profits distributed by the companies. Also in May, QCSD registered 70 mortgage transactions, compared to 133 in April, a decrease by 47.37%. QCSD also registered 167 mortgage decomposition transactions in May compared to 247 in April, a change of 32.39%. The company also registered 91 account opening operations for new shareholders in May, compared to 101 registrations in April, a decrease by 9.9%, and issued 7 thousand and 777 account statements, compared to 7 thousand and 787 in April, a decrease by 0.13%. Qatar Central Securities Depository (QCSD) added in its monthly report that the total number of Qatari individual shareholders reached 279 thousands and 598 shareholders in March, compared to 279 thousands and 603 in February, down by 0.001%. The number of Qatari shareholding institutions in March reached 3 thousands and 797 shareholders, compared to 3 thousands and 796 in February, a change of 0.02%. QCSD added in its monthly report that the number of Qatari shareholders in May reached 279 thousands and 546, compared to 279 thousands and 563 individuals in April, a decrease by 0.006%. The number of Qatari shareholding institutions reached 3 thousands and 801 in May, compared to 3 thousand and 798 institutions in April, a change of 0.07%. Meanwhile, the number of non-Qatari shareholders in May reached 668 thousands and 290, compared to 668 thousands and 249 in April, a change of 0.006%. The number of non-Qatari shareholding institutions reached 4 thousands and 86 in May, compared to 4 thousand and 85 in April, a change of 0.02%. The number of users of the company's website in May was 1,232 users compared to 1,231 in April showing a 0.08% change. QCSD also received 1,603 calls at its call center in May, compared to 1,590 calls in April, showing a change of 0.81%. (QNA)
