Qatar Exchange Index gains 174.70 Points This Week

Doha, June 23 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index gained 174.70 points (+1.78 percent) this week when the bourse closed Thursday afternoon at 9,966.35 points. Trading value during this week decreased by 0.50 percent to reach QR 578,308,587.91 compared to QR 581,243,308.33. Trading volume increased by 0.88 percent to reach 15,520,800 shares, as against 15,384,719 shares, while the number of transactions rose by 11.86 percent, to reach 9,535 transactions as compared to 8,524 transactions. Market capitalization rose by 1.57 percent to reach QR 537,365,700,568.05 as compared to QR 529,080,952,697.48 at the end of previous week. The banks and financial services sector led trading value during this week , accounting for 40.63 percent of the total trading value, Industries sector accounted for 24.26 percent. The real estate sector accounting for 11.48 percent, and consumer goods and Services sector accounted 8.61 percent. The banks and financial services sector led trading volume during this week with 34.47 percent of the total trading volume. Industrials sector accounted for 21.32 percent. The real estate sector accounting for 19.43 percent, and telecoms sector, which accounted 12.24 percent. The banks and financial services sector led trading number of transactions during this week with 30.01 percent of the total number of transactions. Industrials sector accounted for 22.19 percent. The real estate sector accounted for 18.31 percent, and telecoms sector accounted for 12.06 percent. From the 44 listed companies 29 ended this week higher, while 10 fell and five company unchanged. The Gulf International Services led trading value during this week accounted for 14.01 percent of the total trading value. Qatar Islamic Bank accounted for 10.61 percent.
