Qatar Museums and Qatar Development Bank Sign Agreement on Supporting SMEs

Doha, April 01 (QNA) - Qatar Museums (QM) and Qatar Development Bank (QDB) announced today that they have signed an agreement to provide Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with new business opportunities within each organization. QM will appoint SMEs in the related industries sectors and QDB will design SME friendly programs and will assist in sourcing and selecting the SMEs to accommodate their needs. The partnership forms part of a nationwide strategy to promote and accelerate the development of the private sector in Qatar, and falls in line with the economic pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030. CEO and Special Advisor to the Chairperson at Qatar Museums Mansoor bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud said that "Qatar Museums is an active supporter of Private sector including SMEs in Qatar. Our role is to develop, promote and sustain the cultural sector in Qatar at the highest standards. This is a huge ambition, which cannot be achieved without the help of strong and committed partners." He added that doing business in the current macroeconomic developments could face some challenges. That is why QM can help SMEs in the field of hospitality, food and beverage, merchandise, retail and creative products and design. For his part, CEO of Qatar Development Bank Abdul Aziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa said "Through this partnership with Qatar Museums we aim to support and develop the private sector, especially small and medium enterprises in various sectors, to become an integral part of our national economy." The partnership will see both organizations developing a number of SME friendly programmes to establish a culture of entrepreneurship, and a series of workshops, training sessions, educational programmes and seminars for local SMEs on the subject of entrepreneurship will be held.
