Qatar Participates in 3rd Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum

Tehran, November 23 (QNA) - Qatar participated in the 3rd Summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), which was held in Tehran today. Qatar's delegation was headed by HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh Al Sada. A statement released by Ministry of Energy and Industry said the summit will discuss a number of topics including production conditions and international gas markets. The statement said that the Third Summit aims to promote mutual interests, increase coordination and cooperation between member states, encourage and support dialogue between gas producers and consumers so as to achieve the desired balance in gas markets. On the sidelines of the summit, Dr Al Sada met a number of ministers participating in the summit and discussed with them bilateral relations as well as means to develop them, in addition to a number of issues of common concern. The State of Qatar is scheduled to preside over the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) as of 1st January until the end of December 2016. Bolivia's request to host the fourth GECF summit in 2017 was approved. (QNA)
